Product detailed description
Château Cantemerle 2019 is a demonstration of the harmony and elegance that is typical of this classified winery. The 2019 vintage was characterized by a warm and stable growing season, thanks to which the grapes reached excellent phenolic ripeness while maintaining freshness and balance. The result is a wine with beautiful energy, precise structure and exceptionally clean expression.
The aroma blends notes of blackcurrant, plum and dark forest fruits with subtle hints of cedar wood and spices. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and elegant, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. The sensitive use of oak underlines the character of the Haut-Médoc terroir without covering the fruit expression. Château Cantemerle 2019 represents a refined style of classified Bordeaux, which will offer pleasure today, but also has the potential to mature further.
We recommend serving at 16–18°C after decanting for about an hour. It will perfectly complement roast duck, lamb or beef in wine.

Château Cantemerle
Château Cantemerle is one of the first grand cru classé estates from Bordeaux. It was classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru Classé) in 1855. The château’s history dates back to the 14th century when it served as part of the line of fortifications protecting the shores of the Médoc.
The estate is currently managed by Philippe Dambrine and belongs to an insurance company. The vines are cultivated on 87 hectares, divided into three roughly equal parts, which are alternately left fallow to allow the soil to rest before being replanted with a different grape variety. The wine ages for 12 months in oak barrels, with 30% being new.
Cantemerle wine consistently represents one of the best possible purchases in terms of quality/price ratio.
