Crémant de Bordeaux
The Crémant de Bordeaux appellation was officially recognized in 1990 and represents sparkling wines crafted using the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle, the same technique used for Champagne. This process creates elegant wines with fine bubbles and a refreshing character.
Crémant de Bordeaux can be either white or rosé and is produced from the classic Bordeaux grape varieties – primarily Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle for whites, and Cabernet Franc, Merlot, or Cabernet Sauvignon for rosés. The wines are known for their fruity aromatic profile, lightness, and versatility. They make an ideal aperitif but also pair beautifully with light dishes, seafood, or desserts.
This appellation reveals a playful and refreshing side of Bordeaux, offering sparkling wines with an excellent balance of quality and value.
