Product detailed description
Château Tour de Pez 2012 is a Cru Bourgeois wine from the renowned Saint-Estèphe appellation, one of the most prestigious parts of the Médoc wine region in Bordeaux. This vintage is particularly interesting because it was marked by contrasting weather conditions – a wet spring was followed by a mildly warm summer, which allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and completely. This gave the wine the robust but refined tannic structure that is characteristic of wines from this region. The soils of Saint-Estèphe, rich in gravel and clay-limestone subsoil, give the wine great aging potential and a powerful, full flavor. It is an authentic expression of the terroir, embodying the strength and elegance of the wines from the Left Bank.
To fully appreciate this wine, it is recommended to decant it for about an hour and serve it at a temperature of 16-18 ° C. It will perfectly complement rich and tasty dishes such as roast duck, grilled entrecôte or leg of lamb.

Château Tour de Pez
Château Tour de Pez is a historic winery nestled in the prestigious Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux. With roots reaching back to the 17th century and a long-standing Cru Bourgeois classification since 1838, it represents enduring quality and tradition. In 1931 it took on its present name, and in 2019 it was acquired by Vignobles de Larose, marking the beginning of its transformation into a modern, sustainable estate.
The estate spans around 19 hectares, intriguingly fragmented into 39 separate vineyard parcels, enabling meticulous parcel-by-parcel viticulture. Its soils—gravel over clay-limestone—provide cooling and resilience in the face of climate change, helping ensure even ripening and expressive terroir-driven wines.
Winemaking blends precision with innovation. Hand-harvested grapes undergo optical sorting upon arrival. A cold pre-fermentation maceration in double-walled, chilled stainless steel vats enhances aromatic finesse. Extraction is managed using the Pulseair system, and every vinification decision is guided by sensory tasting. The wines then age for 14 months in French oak barrels (70 % new), gaining structure and silkines.
The result is wine that boldly declares its origin: expressive, terroir-centric, with fine tannins, harmonious balance, and refreshing elegance. Château Tour de Pez captures the essence of Saint-Estèphe—with power and poise in equal measure.
