Product detailed description
Château Moulin Haut-Villars 2023 comes from the Fronsac appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux, where wines based mainly on the Merlot variety predominate. The 2023 vintage brought well-ripened grapes and preserved a pleasant freshness in the wines. The result is a modern Fronsac with a rich fruity character that is accessible even when young.
The aroma reveals notes of ripe plums, black cherries and fine spices, complemented by a light touch of vanilla from the aging in oak barrels. The taste is juicy, round and harmonious, with fine tannins and a pleasantly long finish. Thanks to its balance, it will be easy to drink immediately after release, but it also has the potential to age for several years.
Serve at a temperature of 16-18 ° C. A shorter decantation of approximately 30 minutes will help the wine to open up its aromas. It goes great with roasted meat, pasta with mushrooms, lamb or semi-hard and hard cheeses.

Château Villars
The origins of Château Villars date back nearly 200 years. Château Villars has remained in the same family for over seven generations. Currently, the vineyard spans nearly 30 hectares, double its original size. Over the last 20 years, the quality of the wine has improved significantly through the application of modern oenological principles, making it one of the most renowned wines of the appellation.
The vineyard's soil is clay-limestone, known for its ability to produce wines with great aromatic diversity and remarkable elegance on the palate. Since 1978, the wines have been aged in oak barrels, one-third of which are replaced with new ones each year.
In addition to its flagship wine, the winery also produces a second wine called Château Moulin Haut-Villars. Sourced from younger vines and dominated by Merlot in its blend, it is crafted to be more approachable, fruit-forward, and ready to enjoy earlier than the grand vin of Château Villars, all while preserving the characteristic elegance and terroir profile of the appellation.
