Product detailed description

Château Latour à Pomerol 2011 comes from one of the most sought-after parts of the Pomerol appellation, where clay soils dominate, giving the wines depth, finesse and long ageing potential. Although the 2011 vintage followed an exceptionally strong 2010, the wine has the typical elegance of the right bank of Bordeaux. Instead of strength, it is based on balance, purity and gradually developing complexity.

The aroma gradually opens up to ripe dark fruit, plums and black cherries, which are complemented by delicate notes of cocoa, cedar wood and sweet spices. The taste is velvety, with finely rounded tannins and a long, harmonious finish. After more than ten years of ageing, the wine is very accessible, but at the same time retains enough freshness for further development.

Serve at a temperature of 16-18 ° C. We recommend decanting approximately 60 minutes before serving. It goes well with beef, lamb, duck or dishes with wild mushrooms.

Château Latour à Pomerol is one of the most respected estates in the prestigious Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. The estate takes its name from the distinctive tower that adorns the château, while its history is closely linked to the legendary Madame Loubat, former owner of Château Pétrus, who acquired the property in 1917. Since 1962, Château Latour à Pomerol has been managed by the family-owned Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, helping to preserve the estate’s traditional style and consistently high standards.

The estate's vineyards cover approximately 8 hectares and are planted on a variety of soils typical of Pomerol. The most prized parcels, located near the village church, rest on deep gravel and clay soils, while the vineyards surrounding the château are rooted in clay-loam subsoils. Merlot is the dominant grape variety, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Every stage of vineyard management is carried out with meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest possible fruit quality.

The wines of Château Latour à Pomerol are renowned for their balance of elegance and structure. They offer a generous palate, refined tannins, and a complex aromatic profile with notes of ripe dark fruit, chocolate, and spice. Their depth, harmony, and precision give them outstanding ageing potential, allowing them to develop beautifully over many years in bottle.
