Château Charmail 2014 was produced in a vintage that ultimately surprised with its very good quality. The sunny autumn allowed the grapes to ripen well and gave the wines a pleasant balance. The result is a classic Haut-Médoc with an emphasis on elegance, freshness and pure fruit character.
The aroma reveals notes of red and dark fruit complemented by delicate spices and a hint of cedar wood. The taste is fresh, with fine tannins, good structure and a harmonious finish. Thanks to more than ten years of aging, it offers a pleasantly smooth expression and is ready to open.
Serve at a temperature of 16–18 °C. A shorter decantation of approximately 30–60 minutes will help the wine to fully develop its aroma. It goes well with roasted meat, game or mature cheeses.

Château Charmail
Château Charmail is located in the northernmost part of the Haut-Médoc appellation, right on the border with Saint-Estèphe and neighbouring the renowned Château Sociando-Mallet. The history of the estate dates back to the 16th century, when it was acquired by the Treveys de Charmail family, after whom it takes its name; wine production began here during the 17th century.
Château Charmail benefits from an exceptional location – the gently undulating terrain with a southern exposure promotes optimal grape ripening, while the moderate winds provide natural ventilation of the vineyards. Great emphasis is placed on the quality of the fruit, and harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand.
Château Charmail holds the classification of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The vineyards are planted mainly with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The estate uses gentle winemaking techniques, including pre-fermentation cold maceration, which helps preserve the intensity of aromas and contributes to the depth and elegant structure of the wines.
